Ralph Macchio and Bobby Rydell Join Tom Needham on the Sounds of Film

Stony Brook, NY - July 19, 2016 - Ralph Macchio and singer Bobby Rydell will be Tom Needham's special guests this Thursday at 6 P.M. on WUSB's the Sounds of Film.

Ralph Macchio is a popular actor known for his starring roles in the Outsiders, My Cousin Vinny and three Karate Kid movies.  He first rose to fame on television's Eight is Enough. In 2011, he surprised fans when he placed fourth on Dancing with the Stars. His latest role is on HBO's Deuce.

On Sunday, July 31st, from 10 AM - 3 PM, Ralph Macchio will be a celebrity host and judge for Revved Up for a Cure - Classics to Exotic Car Show presented by the Dr. Patrick J. Dineen Memorial Foundation.  The event will be benefiting men's cancer programs and services.  The car show at the Stony Brook Cancer Center will be offering a variety of free medical screenings, entertainment and food for purchase. It will also be featuring the Karate Kid's '47 Ford Convertible Coupe.

Legendary singer Bobby Rydell will also be a guest on the Sounds of Film.  Bobby Rydell is well-known for his amazing string of 34 Top 40 hits including "Wild One", "Kissin Time", "We Got Love" and "Volare." In 1963, he starred in the classic film musical, Bye Bye Birdie, along with Ann-Margret. His life story can be found in his critically acclaimed new book, Teen Idol on the Rocks: A Tale of Second Chances.

Bobby Rydell will be appearing at 92Y at Lexington Avenue and 92nd Street on July 27th at 8 PM. He will participate in a conversation with Anthony DeCurtis.
