Authorities: Two Suspects Arrested After Attempting to Burglarize Syosset Residence

Syosset, NY - July 13, 2017 - The Major Case Burglary Team along with the Second Squad reports the arrests of two (2) Brooklyn men for Burglary which occurred on May 15, 2017 at 11:00 pm in Syosset.
 
According the detectives, Jonathan Hernandez, 17, and Christopher Castaneda, 22, attempted to gain entry into a Honey Drive residence. The defendants tried to enter the residence through a side window.  No loss was reported. 
 
Both defendants were arrested without incident.
 
Defendant Hernandez was arrested on June 23, 2017 and charged with Burglary 2nd degree. Defendant Castaneda is charged with Burglary 2nd degree.  He will be arraigned on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
