Police on the Hunt for Thief, $80K Show Car Stolen in Suffolk County

A show car valued at an estimated $80,000 has been stolen. Police are on the hunt for the person or persons responsible for breaking into the garage and taking the silver Nissan Skyline GT-R.

A big ticket car item with an estimated value of $80,000 has gone missing from a garage in East Patchogue. The show car – a silver Nissan Skyline GT-R – is said to have been stolen from the garage, located on Esplanade Drive, between June 17 at 9:30 p.m. and June 18 at 1:30 a.m., according to Suffolk County police.

The show car is not any ordinary vehicle. It’s been featured in magazines and has a right-hand drive. The Nissan Skyline GT-R is also a vehicle that’s been seen in movies like “Fast & Furious” and “2 Fast 2 Furious.”

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are on the hunt for the person or persons responsible for breaking into the garage and stealing the vehicle. It is seeking the public’s help.

There is a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. All calls are also kept confidential.
