Female Feral Cat Caught in Illegal Leg Trap in Port Washington, According to Nassau County SPCA

A female feral cat caught in an illegal leg trap in Port Washington had to be euthanized due to her injuries, the Nassau County SPCA says.

Port Washington, NY - June 23, 2017 - The Nassau County SPCA is offering a $5,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for placing an illegal leg trap in Port Washington, NY.
 
This 10 year old female feral cat was found today near Stony Hallow Lane weak and frightened dragging the trap. She was taken to an emergency animal hospital, but sadly due to the severity of her injuries she had to be humanely euthanized.  
   
The Nassau County SPCA is offering this reward because it feels someone knows who placed the leg trap that caused this helpless cat such trauma. We feel that it is necessary to use every available tool in fighting animal cruelty to ensure that the abusers face the  maximum penalty under the law!
