Mangano Salutes "Team Nassau" 8th Annual Law Enforcement Tug Of War Fundraiser Benefitting Wounded Warrior Project

The Tug of War event hosted by WBAB at Jones Beach is a friendly rivalry between Nassau and Suffolk Counties with all proceeds benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project.

Nassau County, NY - August 12, 2015 - Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano (standing 1st row, 6th from right) was joined by members of Nassau County Law Enforcement in celebrating the success of “Team Nassau” in The 8th Annual Law Enforcement Tug of War Fundraiser. “Team Nassau” proudly took home trophies for winning in 3 out of 4 events.

The Tug of War event hosted by WBAB at Jones Beach is a friendly rivalry between Nassau and Suffolk Counties with all proceeds benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project. Teams consisted of 6 members on each of the Sheriff’s and Women’s teams, 8 on the Corrections Departments teams, and 10 members on each of the Police Department teams. Each team was also prepared with alternates and coaches.

Competitions were held between the two counties in four categories; Women of Law Enforcement, Sheriff’s Department, Corrections Department, and Police Department. “We are all winners today,” remarked County Executive Mangano. “I am proud of our members in Nassau County law enforcement who come together each year to support such a worthy cause.”

With the mission to honor and empower Wounded Warriors, the Wounded Warriors Project is the hand extended to encourage warriors as they adjust to their new normal and achieve new triumphs.
