TRAVEL ADVISORY: Overnight Closures on the Long Island Expressway and State Route 25 in Nassau County, and State Route 25 in Suffolk County

The closures on Long Island are to facilitate a bridge cleaning project.

The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists of the following overnight closures on Long Island during the week of Monday, May 27 to facilitate a bridge cleaning project:

  • Tuesday, May 28 and Wednesday, May 29 between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m.: Eastbound Long Island Expressway (Interstate 495) at Exit 41 (State Routes 106/107) in the Town of Oyster Bay, Nassau County. Traffic will be detoured onto the South Service Road
  • Thursday, May 30 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.: The ramp for Exit 40W (State Route 25/Jericho Turnpike) on the westbound Long Island Expressway in the Town of Oyster Bay. Motorists should use Exit 40E for access to westbound Jericho Turnpike. There will also be single lane closures on both directions of Jericho Turnpike at Service Road intersection.
  • Friday, May 31 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.: Both directions of Middle Country Road (State Route 25) at Nicholls Road (Suffolk County Route 97) in the Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County.  Traffic will be detoured onto southbound Nicholls Road, exit to Portion Road (Suffolk County Route 16) eastbound for northbound Nicholls Road to eastbound Route 25.

All closures are weather dependent.
