TRAVEL ADVISORY: Overnight Closure on the Robert Moses Causeway in the Town of Islip

The closures are 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, until 5 a.m. Wednesday, July 16 to continue bridge inspection which could not be completed last night due to inclement weather.

The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the Robert Moses Causeway will be reduced to one lane on the Fire Island Inlet Bridge with alternating flows of traffic controlled by flaggers from 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, until 5 a.m. Wednesday, July 16 to continue bridge inspection which could not be completed last night due to inclement weather.

As a precaution, marine traffic should continue to navigate towards the southern end of the inlet under the bridge and follow the direction of the New York State Park Police.
