Police: Massapequa Woman Accused of Stealing Mail from Her Neighbors For Extended Period

Massapequa, NY - May 24, 2018 - Seventh Squad detectives report the arrest of a Massapequa woman for incidents that occurred over an extended time in Massapequa.
 
According to detectives, Charlee Zamora, 22, after a subsequent investigation by detectives, was found to have removed outgoing mail from local Central Avenue resident’s mailboxes, in an effort to obtain identity information, including bank account numbers, personal checks and other pieces of personal information.
 
Upon her arrest, at her home, detectives recovered multiple pieces of victim’s mail, numerous credit cards/debit cards as well as gift cards. She was also in possession of a credit card encoder and approximately 100 blank credit cards for potential future use.
 
Zamora is charged with three (3) counts of Petit Larceny and three (3) counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree.
 
She was arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 5/23/2018.
 
The investigation into additional similar incidents regarding the defendant continues.
