Graduations may not be happening in their normal form, but they are still worth celebrating. Long Island is home to some of the most unique and tasty pastry shops and bakeries. Below are some of the best worth trying!

The Dot Cakes by OBFC

The Dot Cakes by OBFC, located in the Town of Westbury, makes sprinkle cakes customized to  our liking, bringing cake design to the next level.

Need some ideas on designing your perfect cake? Check out the company's instagram page, @thedotcakes, which features many of its incredible cakes.

Despite the quarantine during this pandemic, The Dot Cakes by OBFC continues to bring joy to the long island community with its celebratory cakes. “The first few weeks we closed down to assess the situation and self-quarantine ourselves for two weeks. Once those two weeks were up we decided to re-open because there was a massive influx of email requests for orders,” said owners Alex and Sandra Posner. “We want to help bring even a little happiness to our customers especially during a time of such loss and isolation. We have been taking orders over email, calling for payment, and doing contactless, curbside pickup from our store location in Westbury, NY. All of the countless referrals, pictures of celebrations, and smiles we get make it all worth it in the end!”

It is recommended that an order be placed at least a week or two in advance. For more information, email okaybutfirstcake@aol.com

The Cake Don
Located in Carle Place, The Cake Don makes extraordinary and detailed graduation cakes. The business specializes in celebratory cakes, including graduations. Some of The Cake Don’s most popular designs for graduation cake include a graduation cap, diploma, or textbook. Cakes can include personal photos and fondant figures.

Not only is the owner, Don Donerolo, beloved by many, but the look and taste of his cakes are to die for.

On Yelp, Mar V., from Carle Place, wrote that her graduation cake was incredible.

She wrote, “ Ordered a graduation cake for my son and was so happy with it. Don was easy to work with in designing the cake and it got delivered on time to the restaurant and was beautiful and delicious. Price was very good too because I've done other fancy cakes that cost more and weren't as nice or as tasty. Can't wait to order another cake again!”

Celebrating big? Cupcake towers are available upon request. Not only will the cupcakes taste amazing, but they will look beautiful.

The Perfect Cupcake is still open and running despite the quarantine. “The Perfect Cupcake will still be taking custom orders during this trying and uncertain time. We will do everything possible to keep ourselves and our kitchen sanitized to the best of our ability.”
