NCPD: Locust Valley Man Arrested After Firing Rifle from Back Door of His Residence

Locust Valley, NY - April 4, 2018 - The Second Squad reports the arrest of a Locust Valley man for an incident that occurred on April 1, 2018 at 2:47 p.m. in Locust Valley.
 
According to Detectives, Andrius Guobys, 55, was observed by neighbors, after hearing the sound of a gunshot, holding what appeared to be a rifle. Guobys fired two (2) shots out the back door of his home. Police responded to the scene and placed the defendant under arrest without further incident. No injuries were reported.
 
The defendant, Andrius Guobys, is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree, Prohibited Use of Weapons and two (2) counts of Endangering The Welfare of a Child. He will be arraigned on Monday, April 02, 2018 in First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
