Winter storm Saturn is slowly moving away from the Northeast, but it has left Long Islanders with a host of hazardous conditions. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory that will remain in effect until noon today.

Moderate to locally heavy, wet snow will continue to fall this morning with accumulations ranging from three to six inches around the Island, making for hazardous driving conditions and possible downed tree branches and power lines.

With temperatures.in the mid to upper 30s, snow will continue to fall before 1p.m., followed by rain and snow between 1p.m. and 4p.m. and then a chance of rain after 4p.m.

Tonight conditions will gradually clear, and by morning we’ll see sun with high temperatures nearing 45. Sunday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high near 48!

It’s an unusual case of winter kissing spring—or, hopefully, spring kissing winter goodbye!
