AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 11 PM EDT THIS EVENING The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an air quality health advisory for the following counties... Suffolk...Nassau...Richmond...Kings...Queens...New York...Bronx...Wes chester...Rockland. from 11 AM this morning to 11 PM EDT this evening. Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an Air Quality Index value of 100 for the pollutant of Ground Level Ozone . The Air Quality Index...or AQI...was created as an easy way to correlate levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the AQI value...the greater the health concern. When pollution levels are elevated...the New York State Department of Health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very young...and those with preexisting respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. Police in Search for 4 Men Who Burglarized Home in Roslyn Heights

Roslyn Heights, NY - February 25, 2017 - The Third Squad reports the details of Burglary which occurred on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 12:40 am in Roslyn Heights.

According to detectives, four male blacks entered a Sherwood Lane home through a side door an approached a female victim, 63, and demanded she give them money.  One of the suspects wearing a red jacket threatened the victim while another held her down and ripped a gold chain from her neck.  One of the other suspects removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim’s pocketbook.  The four suspects fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.  The victim’s husband, 66, was also present sleeping in a different part of the home at the time of the incident.  No injuries were reported.  No further description is available at this time.
