Suffolk County SPCA Rescues 50 Cats from Bohemia Home, Urgently Seeks Vets and Donations for Emergency Care

The Suffolk County SPCA is urgently seeking veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians to assist with their care.

On May 3, 2025, the Suffolk County SPCA responded to a residence in Bohemia where approximately 50 cats were found in need of immediate removal and veterinary care. The cats are presently being housed and treated on the SPCA MASH Unit with the cooperation of the Town of Islip Animal Shelter.

 

Many of the cats require urgent medical attention. The Suffolk County SPCA is urgently seeking veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians to assist with their care. Veterinary care will be scheduled on Tuesday to help with evaluations and treatments.

 

In addition, the Suffolk County SPCA is asking for financial donations in the amount of $10,000 to help provide medications and veterinary supplies for the sick cats.
