The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of two individuals for an Assault that occurred on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 1:30 pm in Valley Stream.
According to detectives, officers responded to a Valley Stream residence to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival, officers determined Brigitte Atta-Poku, 43, required medical treatment and evaluation. She became violent and combative, striking an officer multiple times and bit a Nassau County Police Medic.
During the struggle, her son, Manai A. Frank, 23, jumped towards the police medic and pushed him. As a result, the officer and police medic sustained injuries and were transported to a local area hospital for treatment. Brigitte Atta-Poku and Manai A. Frank were both placed under arrest.
Defendant Brigitte Atta-Poku is charged with Assault 2nd Degree and Resisting Arrest. Defendant Manai A. Frank is charged with Assault 2nd Degree. They will both be arraigned on Monday, February 26, 2024 in First District Court, 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
