NCPD: Queens Man Arrested After Assaulting Great Neck Homeowner During Burglary Attempt

Great Neck, NY - February 1, 2019 - Third Squad detectives report the arrest of a Queens man for Burglary that occurred on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 3:10 p.m. in Great Neck.
 
According to detectives, the defendant, Farbod Hoorizadeh, 27, of Little Neck, was observed by the victim trying to gain entry into his home on Arbor Street. The victim confronted the defendant and a brief struggle ensued. 
 
Farbod Hoorizadeh got into his vehicle, which was parked in the victim’s driveway and attempted to leave the scene. The victim tried stopping Hoorizadeh from leaving and was bit on his left arm. As the defendant was driving in reverse from the driveway he struck the victim with his car door which briefly dragged the victim and injured his knee. Police arrived before the defendant could leave the scene and was placed under arrest without further incident. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.
 
During the investigation it was determined that the defendant, Farbod Hoorizadeh, was also responsible for a Burglary at the same residence that occurred on Monday, January 28, 2019.
 
Defendant Farbod Hoorizadeh is charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Burglary 3rd Degree, Attempted Burglary 3rd Degree, two (2) counts of Assault 3rd Degree and Reckless Endangerment. He will be arraigned on Friday, February 1, 2019 at First District Court, 99 Main Street in Hempstead.
