Brooklyn Technical High School Alumni Ass. -11-30-2005
Tuesday, Nov. 29th Mayor Bloomberg Honored members of the Brooklyn Technical High School Alumni Ass., led by Achilles Perry, President and Michael Weiss, Chairman, for meeting their goal of raising 10 million dollars for the school.
At a formal Breakfast in Gracie Mansion, Mayor Michael Bloomberg honored about 100 of Tech's famed Alumni Association for setting and meeting such an admirable goal.
Spearheading the fund drive was Leonard Riggio, founder and Chairman of Barnes & Noble, and a Tech graduate. Others who contributed to this drive included Charles Wang, of Computer Ass., a Tech graduate, Norman Keller, of IBM, and many other illustrious names.
Mayor Bloomberg personally shook hands with each attending member and called on the many individuals who have benefited from 'a great NYC education' to follow Tech's example and get involved with their local high schools.
The efforts of the Alumni Ass. continue as the LI chapter initiates a monthly networking opportunity with the hope of creating a vibrant business/friendship community of Tech graduates.
First meeting will be Tuesday, Dec. 6th from 5pm - 8pm at TR's in Williston Park.
