The First Squad reports the Arrest of a Hempstead man on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 9:05pm in Roosevelt.

According to Detectives, Defendant Jahson Dindyal-Hamilton, 22, of 40 W. Columbia Street Hempstead was operating a green and white colored Kawasaki KX250F while travelling southbound on Uniondale Avenue in Roosevelt.  Officers observed the Defendant recklessly driving, performing ‘wheelies’ and failed to stop at a red light as he continued to Nassau Road and W Greenwich Avenue.  When Officers conducted a Vehicle and Traffic Law stop and approached, the Defendant got off the motorcycle and proceeded to run on foot westbound on W. Greenwich Avenue.  The Officers pursued on foot and gave several verbal commands to stop and warnings were given about the use of the Electronic Control Device.  The Defendant ignored all commands and the ECD was deployed with positive results.  The subject was placed under arrest without further incident.  He was transported to a local area hospital for evaluation and was released.  Subsequent to the investigation, the motorcycle’s vehicle identification number had been defaced.  The motorcycle was impounded.

Defendant Jahson Dindyal-Hamilton is charged with Forgery of a Vehicle Identification Number, Reckless Driving and six Vehicle and Traffic Law violations.  He was issued an Appearance Ticket returnable on Monday, August 28, 2023 to First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
