Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian in Middle Island last night.
Robert Trombly was crossing in the westbound lane of Middle Country Road, near Tudor Lane at 9:20 p.m. when he was struck by a westbound 2021 Hyundai Sonata driven by Giovanna Cieslak.
Trombly, 56, of Middle Island, was transported by Middle Island Rescue to NY Langone Hospital –Suffolk in Patchogue where he was pronounced dead.
Cieslak, 19, of Coram, was not injured.
The Hyundai was impounded for a safety check. Anyone with information on this crash is asked to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
