Sheriffs Office, arrested seven motorists during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Patchogue

The Suffolk County Police Department, assisted by the Suffolk County Sheriffs Office, arrested seven motorists during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Patchogue. One of the motorists was charged with Leandra’s Law, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a felony offense, for having a 13-year-old child in the vehicle.
 
Police officers from the Suffolk County Police Department’s Highway Patrol Bureau conducted a joint operation Sobriety Checkpoint with Suffolk County Deputy Sheriffs at the intersection of Waverly Avenue and Sunrise Highway North Service Road from 11:10 p.m. last night until 2:30 a.m. this morning. The checkpoint was part of an ongoing  enforcement crackdown targeting alcohol and drug impaired driving. A total of 523 vehicles went through the checkpoint.
The following were charged with Driving While Intoxicated:
 
 Erik Delosh, 36, of Babylon
 Michael Capozucca, 29, of Northport
 Thomas Santoro, 25, of Holbrook
 Richard Petry, 33, of Islip
 Gina Stewart, 25, of Sayville
 
Victor Saquicaray, 39, of Patchogue, was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drugs.
 
Robert Jimenez, 43, of Ronkonkoma, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child Passenger 15 Years Old or Younger (Leandra’s Law) for having a 13-year-old child in the vehicle at the time, and three counts of Acting in a Manner Injurious to a Child, for having children in the vehicle at the time, ages 13, 15, and 16.
 
The seven arrestees will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on May 27.
