For many, the three day weekend marks the unofficial start to Summer - the holiday falls on the last Monday of May, and you can really start to feel summer in the air! This year, there will be firework shows, parades, barbecues, and celebrations happening all weekend long across the Island, and if you haven’t yet set in stone how you’ll be celebrating, not to worry! Memorial Day is a US Federal Holiday honoring the men and women of the United States Armed Forces who gave their lives to protect our country, and the American way of life. This year, Long Islanders will be hosting a variety of celebrations and events in their honor - from the Annual Jones Beach Air Show (with the Blue Angels back in attendance this year!), to Memorial Day Parades, Firework Displays, and so much more.
