Queens Woman Arrested in Carle Place for Check Fraud

Carle Place, NY - December 12th, 2013 - Crimes Against Property Squad detectives report the arrest of a Brooklyn woman for a grand larceny that occurred in Carle Place on 12/21/11 at 10:10 A.M.
 
According to detectives, Shevondia Lewis, 27, of 360 Dumont Ave. deposited a fraudulent check in the amount of $7,900.26, drawn on the account of a Wells Fargo customer, into her Wells Fargo checking account.  She then proceeded to withdraw the money in smaller increments at various Wells Fargo locations throughout Nassau County.  
 
Bureau of Special Operations police officers arrested the defendant on Wednesday, 12/11/13 at her residence.  She is being charged Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Possession Forged Instrument 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Thursday, 12/12/13 in First District Court, Hempstead.
