NCPD: Man Arrested After Demanding Payment for Losing Lotto Tickets

Syosset, NY - October 26th, 2013 - The Second Squad reports an arrest for Robbery which occurred on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. in Syosset.
 
According to detectives, Michael Sullo, 43, of 41 Jean Place, Syosset, entered the Food Express, located at 391 Jericho Turnpike and produced losing lotto tickets to the male clerk, 27, demanding to be paid.  Sullo is a regular customer who plays the same number every day, which came out that day.  The clerk had mistakenly entered the wrong numbers in the computer that morning.  After offering to pay half, the clerk left the store and left the parking lot in his vehicle.  Sullo, who was unsatisfied with the offer, followed the victim in his car causing the victim to pull over.   The suspect produced a box cutter and demanded full payment.  At this time the victim complied, sending the suspect back to the store to collect his money.  Sullo went back to the store collected $250.00 and fled in his vehicle.  Approximately 25 minutes later Sullo was seen by Second Precinct patrol Officers on the corner of Edwards Avenue and Florence Avenue where he was placed under arrest without incident.  No injuries were reported.
 
Sullo is charged with Robbery 1st degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree and will be arraigned on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at First District Court in Hempstead.
