"FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON EDT TODAY" ...FLASH FLOODING POSSIBLE THIS MORNING... The National Weather Service in Upton has expanded the * Flash Flood Watch to include portions of southern Connecticut and southeast New York, including the following areas, in southern Connecticut, Northern Middlesex, Northern New London, Southern Middlesex, and Southern New London. In southeast New York, Northeastern Suffolk, Northwestern Suffolk, Southeastern Suffolk, and Southwestern Suffolk. * Until noon EDT today * As much as 1 to 3 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts, fell across portions of the area Monday afternoon and evening. Scattered heavy rain showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue to move across the area this morning, with an additional 1/2 to 1 inch of rain possible. * Heavy rain moving over already saturated grounds may produce localized flash flooding this morning.
