Westbury, NY - December 14, 2018 - Third Squad detectives report the details of a fatal vehicular accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 8:42 pm in Westbury.
According to detectives, while attempting to cross Old Country Road at the intersection of School Street, a 63 year old female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that was traveling westbound on Old Country Road.
As a result of the collision the pedestrian suffered a fatal injury and was pronounced deceased at the scene by a Nassau County Police Department Medic. The driver of the vehicle, who remained at the scene, was transported to an area hospital for stress related treatment. The pedestrians name is being withheld pending family notification.
The investigation into this incident continues.
