Linda Frank, author of the exciting mystery/romance teen novel, The Madonna Ghost, will provide a book discussion/signing at the Westbury Borders Book Store on January 18, 7:00 p.m.
Inspired by a childhood passion for Nancy Drew books, the popular television series, CSI, and a fascination for forensic science, she successfully married an appealing heroine (Annie Tillery) with a gripping story plot to create this new fiction book for young readers. The Madonna Ghost has earned the distinctive "Editor's Choice" award and was recently listed in the Barnes & Noble Rising Star Special Collection.
Before venturing into writing for youngsters, Frank's first love was in teaching.
She began her profession as a science teacher at Seaford Middle School in the late 1960s, later ending her career as the High School department chairperson, teaching biology, chemistry and forensic science. She went on to teach forensic science and biotechnology at Hofstra University.
Frank is a native New Yorker and professes that she is "an avid supporter of anything New York." She also enjoys sailing, cross country skiing, and traveling. Today, when Frank is not writing chapters for her newest book, Girl With Pencil Drawing, (another exciting Annie Tillery mystery) she supervises science teachers at Adelphi University.
