Officials: Franklin Square Robbery Suspect Identified and Arrested Via DNA Evidence Left at Scene

NCPD report the arrest of Peter Weziewicz of Franklin Square, 34,for an attempted robbery in Franklin Square.

Franklin Square, NY - December 13, 2017 - Fifth Squad detectives report the arrest of Peter Weziewicz, 34, of Franklin Square in connection with an attempted robbery that occurred in Franklin Square on Thursday, 04/06/17 at 7:36 P.M.
 
According to detectives, Weziewicz entered The Smoke Shop located at 774 Hempstead Tpke., approached the clerk and demanded money. The clerk did not comply and Weziewicz fled the scene on foot.
 
No injuries were reported.
 
According to detectives, a subsequent investigation involving DNA evidence that was left at the scene by Wezkiewicz led to the identification, location and arrest of the defendant.
 
It was later determined that Wezkiewicz did take 2 cartons of cigarettes from the store at the time of the incident.
 
Wezkiewicz is charged with Robbery 1st Degree and will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 12/13/2017.
