Any additional rain could lead to flooding of urban and poor drainage areas. In addition, smaller rivers and streams could overflow their banks.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a man who attempted to steal merchandise from a Centereach store last month.

Centereach, NY - December 9th, 2014 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a man who attempted to steal merchandise from a Centereach store last month.

A man walked into the Walmart, located at 161 Centereach Mall, Centereach, on November 25, 2014 and placed video game equipment and a cosmetics gift box into a shopping bag. When the man attempted to exit the store without paying for the merchandise, a security guard grabbed the bag from him, but the suspect got away and fled in a gray or silver minivan with Pennsylvania license plates.

The suspect is described as an 18- to 25-year-old black male, six feet tall, with a heavy build. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and light-colored cargo pants.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
