Sandro's Italian Comes to Manhasset

Chef-owner Alessandro Acquista brings his experience growing up in a Queens trattoria to Nassau.

Sandro's, a new Italian restaurant, has opened in Manhasset on Northern Boulevard, and according to a story in Newsday,  chef-owner Alessandro Acquista has done every job in a restaurant growing up and he;s not afraid to chip in wherever needed - including bussing tables.

 

"I'm doing whatever it takes for people to be happy,” he told Newsday.

The Italian restaurant is serving up some delicious specials like a Montauk Swordfish, Sicilian caponata, and fingerling potatoes dish they recently featured and a Mafalde al Pesto Rosso.

 

The regular menu includes pasta that is made in-house daily and classic Italian dishes.

 

On Yelp, Raymond N, from Astoria, Queens, gave it five stars.

 

“The food here is amazing and the service was top notch,” he wrote.

Mike D, from Woodbury,  agreed.

 

“Beautiful decor and vibe,” he wrote. “Was greeted at the door by Sandro himself and couldn't have been more gracious and welcoming. Service was impeccable and food amazing. Everything we had from the mushroom pappardelle to the chicken was better than the next.”
