Roosevelt Man Busted by NCPD After Allegedly Assaulting, Threatening Female Victim with Firearm

NCPD report the arrest of Francisco Mateo of Roosevelt, 22, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

Roosevelt, NY - October 19, 2018 - First Squad detectives report the arrest of a Roosevelt man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 2:15 am in Roosevelt.

According to detectives, patrol officers responded to a disturbance involving a firearm at a residence on Elm Street.  Upon arrival, officers were informed by the female victim that she was having an argument with Francisco Mateo, 22. The argument escalated and Mateo punched the victim twice in the head. The victim proceeded to call 911 when Mateo attempted to remove the phone from her hand. While remaining on the phone with 911, Mateo displayed a handgun and threatened the victim. An infant was present during the altercation. 
 
During the investigation, Mateo was uncooperative with the officers and became violent.  The defendant was subdued and placed under arrest.
 
Defendant Mateo is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Menacing 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, Assault 3rd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree.  He will be arraigned Friday, October 19, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead
