The Hero Joint, a well-known Patchogue eatery specializing in "fast, quality sandwiches," abruptly announced this past weekend on their Facebook page that the business would be closing its doors permanently as of 4 p.m. Sunday, October 15.

"In case you missed it, today and tomorrow will be our last days in business here in Patchogue," the post read. "Open until 4 PM each day. Thank you."

Located at 74B East Main Street in Patchogue, The Hero Joint was originally opened in September 2018 by owner John Murray, with the business's website touting that they offer "house roasted meats and quality ingredients in every order."

"We also realize it is quite an honor to be given the opportunity to feed you and those you care about," the site reads. "So we do our very best every order, and we are grateful for each order."

The reason for the Patchogue location's closure was cited as “economic conditions."

For those who may find themselves fretting over The Hero Joint's shuttering, there remains one other location at 182 West Main Street in Bay Shore.
