WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches. * WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey and southeast New York. * WHEN...Until 1 PM EST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The precipitation may briefly begin as rain before changing to snow 6 to 8 am as temperatures fall below freezing. The advisory has been issued due to the potential high impact of snow falling during the morning rush hour.

County Executive Curran Announces First Ever Fall Music Festival Music and Food Truck Event to be Held Oct. 2 at Eisenhower Park

Nassau County Executive Laura Curran is proud to announce the first ever Fall Music Festival at the Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre at Eisenhower Park on Saturday, October 2 from 12pm to 7pm. The free music festival will feature performances from the Grateful Dead tribute Half-Step, country music by Two for the Road and Eagles’ tribute band Desert Highway. The event will also feature more than a dozen food trucks, games and a classic car show.

The first ever Fall Music Festival will showcase our crown jewel Eisenhower Park and bring us together to share the best in music and food. Bring the entire family down to celebrate the beginning of fall and a Saturday filled with great live bands, an array of food trucks and fun, “ said County Executive Curran. 
Schedule of performances:
  • Half-Step (Grateful Dead tribute) – 1pm to 2:30pm
  • Two for the Road (country music) – 3:30pm to 4:30pm
  • Desert Highway (Eagles tribute) -4:45pm – 6:15pm
Admission is free.  Residents should bring blankets or chairs.  Food and alcohol will be available for purchase from the County’s concession stand and over a dozen food trucks.  Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre is located at Eisenhower Park, field 6.
