FLASH FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for * Portions of southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey and southeast New York, including the following areas, in southern Connecticut, Northern Fairfield, Northern Middlesex, Northern New Haven, Northern New London, Southern Fairfield, Southern Middlesex, Southern New Haven and Southern New London. In northeast New Jersey, Eastern Bergen, Eastern Essex, Eastern Passaic, Eastern Union, Hudson, Western Bergen, Western Essex, Western Passaic and Western Union. In southeast New York, Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), New York (Manhattan), Northeast Suffolk, Northern Nassau, Northern Queens, Northern Westchester, Northwest Suffolk, Orange, Putnam, Richmond (Staten Island), Rockland, Southeast Suffolk, Southern Nassau, Southern Queens, Southern Westchester and Southwest Suffolk. * Through this afternoon. * A rapidly developing low pressure system south of Long Island is expected to produce heavy rainfall across the region. Rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches with locally higher amounts are possible. Rainfall rates may exceed one inch per hour at times, especially during this morning. The heaviest rainfall is expected to occur through early this afternoon. * Heavy rain may produce areas of flash flooding.

Missing Juvenile Alert: 15-Year-Old Roosevelt Boy Missing

The Missing Persons Squad is investigating a missing juvenile that occurred in Roosevelt on Friday, 09/24/16 at 3:00 P.M.

Cardear Pettis, 15, of Roosevelt, is missing. He may possibly be headed to Brooklyn. Detectives request anyone with information regarding this missing juvenile to contact the Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347 or call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.

Roosevelt, NY - September 27, 2016 - The Missing Persons Squad is investigating a missing juvenile that occurred in Roosevelt on Friday, 09/24/16 at 3:00 P.M.

According to detectives, Cardear Pettis, 15, was last seen leaving his residence in Roosevelt. He is described as a male black, wearing a black and blue checkered sweat jacket and gray sweat pants.  The missing was possibly headed to Brooklyn.
