Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to locate a missing Babylon man who is depressed and may be suicidal.

Babylon, NY - December 31st, 2014 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to locate a missing Babylon man who is depressed and may be suicidal.

William Schliemann, 61, of 108 Mayhew Avenue, Babylon, was last seen at his home on Monday at approximately 3:30 p.m. He was reported missing by a family member on Tuesday. It appears that Schliemann may have taken off in a 12 foot Carolina Skiff from the dock on the canal in his backyard. Officers from the Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau and Aviation Section have been conducting a search of the area along the south shore.

Schliemann is described as a white male, six feet tall, 170 pounds, with short brown hair and brown eyes. He may be carrying a shotgun and people are warned not to approach him.

Detectives are asking anyone who has any information on William Schliemann’s whereabouts to call 911 or contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
