West Islip, NY - September 13, 2016 - St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School is proud to announce that seven students earned recognition as National AP Scholars for the 2015-2016 school year. This award is given to students who score 4 or higher on at least eight AP exams throughout their high school career and who earn an average of 4 (AP exams are graded on a scale from 0 to 5) on all of the AP Exams that they attempt. Seniors Caitlin Bertolini, Erin Endres, Frederick Hoffman, Grant Mak, Andrea Mauro and Liam Vita and Junior Anna Wang all received this great honor!

“According to recent data, roughly twenty-six thousand students a year earn the title of National AP Scholar. Just about 1700 of those students are from New York. Considering the fact that there are over twenty-three million students in the world taking AP classes at this time, it’s incredible that seven of our students were able to achieve such a prestigious honor in the same year.” stated Mr. Matthew Artigas, Assistant Principal for Curriculum and Instruction at St. John the Baptist DHS.
