The William Floyd UFSD is proud to announce that ten high school art students who volunteered their time to participate in the WALK 97.5 radio station "My Hometown Mural Contest" captured the $5,000 Grand Prize!
The students painted a mural to help beautify Mastic Beach, specifically a building located at Diana Drive and Neighborhood Road in Mastic Beach.
William Floyd high school art students Karla Litmus, Grace Hickey, Dani Wolff, Charis Torre, Brianna Connelly, Dana Ganglone, Lizzy Bernard, Shannon Graham, Joanna Bugenis, and Josette Manzolillo, under the direction of art teachers Susan Plunket and Theresa Bianco painted the mural. The students volunteered more than eight hours in November.
The high school students and staff are grateful to the Mastic Beach Village Cultural Arts Committee for donating the paint and to members Robert Guerriero, Kathy Stiriz, and Ewa Stankiewicz for all their support.
