Intoxicated Freeport Man in Custody After Allegedly Threatening Police with Gun

The First Squad reports the arrest of a Freeport man for an Assault that occurred on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 1:00 pm in Roosevelt.
 
According to detectives, officers responded to a 911 call for an intoxicated male at So Good Deli located at 425 Nassau Road. Upon arrival, officers located the subject, who stated he had a pistol and motioned towards his waistband.  
 
The male subject ignored the officers’ verbal commands to stop as he fled eastbound on E. Clinton Avenue. A foot pursuit ensued and Raul Flores, 24, of 124 E. Milton Street was arrest a short time later. 
 
During the arrest, an officer suffered an injury to his right knee. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment and evaluation.
 
Defendant Flores is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Menacing 3rd Degree, Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree and Obstructing a Governmental Administration 2nd Degree. He will be arraigned on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at First District Court, Hempstead.
