Update - September 13, 2016 - The Homicide Squad has identified the below victim as Josue Guzman, 15, from Hempstead.

Hempstead, NY - September 12, 2016 - The Homicide Squad is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 1:03 a.m. in Hempstead.
According to detectives, Hempstead Police responded to a shot spotter in the vicinity of Laurel Avenue and Linden Avenue. Upon their arrival they discovered a 15 year old male juvenile had been fatally shot at the intersection.
Detectives request anyone with information regarding the above crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
