Suffolk PD: Man Arrested for DWI After Striking and Killing Pedestrian Outside of His Home

Eric Lindemann of Holbrook, 33, allegedly veered off the roadway and onto the shoulder, hitting Amanullah Aman of Ronkonkoma, 64, cops say.

Suffolk County Police arrested a man for driving while intoxicated after he struck and killed a pedestrian outside of the victim’s Ronkonkoma home.
 
Eric Lindemann was driving a 2018 Kia southbound on Ocean Avenue when he veered off the roadway and onto the shoulder, striking Amanullah Aman outside of his residence, located on Ocean Avenue, at approximately 11:40 a.m.
 
Aman, 64, was transported via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
 
Major Case Unit detectives charged Lindemann, 33, of Holbrook, with Driving While Intoxicated. Lindemann was held overnight and was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
