Bay Shore, NY - August 31, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a shooting in Bay Shore that resulted in the death of a pregnant 31-year-old woman and her unborn child.
Third Precinct police officers responded to 1737 Stein Drive in Bay Shore after a 911 caller reported hearing shots fired and finding a woman unresponsive inside her car. Upon arrival, officers found Milagro G. Canjura, who lived at that address, inside a 2011 Toyota Camry and she had been shot multiple times.
Canjura, 31, who was pregnant, was rushed via Brentwood Legion Ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where she and her unborn baby were pronounced dead.
