Legislator Anker Reminds the Community to Shop Local with the Rocky Point HarvestFest

Legislator Anker joins Rocky Point civic president Charlie Bevington, Julia and Peter Priolo at the Rocky Point Farmers and Artisans Market

Rocky Point,NY, August 2013 –Legislator Sarah Anker would like to remind the local community that on Sunday, September 15th, the Rocky Point Civic Association will be hosting HarvestFest. The event will take place from 8am to 4pm at Old Depot Park, on the corner of Broadway and Prince in Rocky Point. Vendors will be selling local produce and poultry, artisan beer, and handmade ceramics and jewelry, to name a few.

“In order to keep our economy healthy we must support local farmers and merchants,” said Legislator Anker.  “The Rocky Point Farmers and Artisans Market has become an important part of our community, I encourage residents to visit the market and continue to strengthen our local farmers and businesses.”

HarvestFest is sponsored by Cornell and Creating Healthy Places in Suffolk County and the Town of Brookhaven Parks Department.
