WEST ISLIP, NY, November 4, 2011 - Swirls and Twirls self-serve frozen yogurt shop (www.swirlsandtwirlsusa.com), featuring 24 flavors, 43 toppings and endless possibilities, announces the grand opening celebration of its second location at 494 Union Boulevard, West Islip, in the King Kullen Shopping Center on Friday, November 18, 2011 from 11 a.m. - 12 midnight.

Swirls and Twirls co-owner Joe Sala, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, invites the public to stop by to savor "the ultimate healthy indulgence" on grand opening day for half-price. In celebration of this special occasion, fifty percent of all proceeds will be donated to CASK, the Creative Art Space for Kids Foundation (www.caskfoundation.org.) There will be music, games and free raffles throughout the day, and two lucky people will win free yogurt for a year.

The West Islip location is the second of five Swirls and Twirls scheduled to open on Long Island by spring 2012. The successful launch of this chain began with the opening of the first shop in Massapequa Park in May 2011. The three additional shops will be located in Patchogue, Centereach and Levittown.
"We don't just want to give the people of West Islip a self-serve frozen yogurt shop," says Sala. "We want to become a part of and contribute to their community - like we've done in Massapequa Park. We're using Facebook, Twitter and mobile marketing apps to interact and connect with our customers in ways that they are already connecting with each other. We are joining in their conversations, not interrupting them, and adding to them by supporting local fundraisers, offering promotions, discounts, fun things to do and giving away free stuff along the way. "
The 1,600 square-foot West Islip Swirls and Twirls setting features a vibrant and unique interior, striking architectural lighting, music from a state-of-the-art sound system and free Wi-Fi. It has 8 yogurt machines each serving two flavors, with a third handle allowing customers to create a swirled flavor. All premium yogurt flavors are kosher and most include gluten-free, non-fat, low-fat, no sugar added, dairy-free varieties, and are as low as 70 calories per ½ cup serving. The topping stations contain seven wet, nine fruit and 27 dry toppings. "We designed Swirls and Twirls to encourage folks to have fun and get creative," says Sala, "With all these delectable options, there are endless combination possibilities to create your own healthy treat; your only limit is your imagination!"

After swirling up their own creations yogurt fans move to a weigh-in station where the fee for their treat is only 49 cents an ounce. From 11am-7pm on opening day only, that price will be only 25 cents an ounce. Tables and chairs and a wrap-around couch offer seating to encourage customers to gather and enjoy Swirls and Twirls yogurt in a friendly, fun, party like atmosphere. All spoons, cups and napkins are made from recycled materials.
Leveraging technology to enhance the Swirls experience, two on-site touch screens have been incorporated into every shop. One provides easy access to ingredient, nutrition and allergy information while the other allows users to sign up for the loyalty program and earn free yogurt for doing so. Once a member, customers' points are automatically sent to their cell phones making tracking and redemption a snap.
Hours are Sunday-Thursday 11am - 11pm and Friday- Saturday 11am-Midnight. For more information, call 516-541-9400 or visit www.swirlsandtwirlsusa.com and www.facebook.com/swirlsandtwirls
