The Second Squad reports the Arrest of a Hicksville man for Criminal Impersonation that occurred on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Hicksville.
According to detectives, defendant Valiery Portlock, 25, was traveling northbound on Hicksville Road in a black Nissan Sentra in the vicinity of Roosevelt Ave. when he activated his air horn and emergency lights in an attempt to pull over a van. The van was occupied by Nassau County Electronics Squad detectives. The detectives, while stopped in traffic, identified themselves and approached the defendant’s vehicle.
The defendant then fled the scene, swerved into oncoming traffic and refused to stop. The defendant continued to drive at a high rate of speed onto the Long Island Expressway. Nassau County Highway Patrol officers were notified and soon spotted the defendant and initiated a traffic stop. Valiery Portlock was placed under arrest without incident.
Valiery Portlock is charged with Criminal Impersonation 1st degree, Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree and Unlawful Fleeing from a Police Officer as well as multiple VTL violations. He was arraigned on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at First District Court, Hempstead.
