NCPD reports the Arrest of Roberto Pena of New Cassel, 27, for Grand Larceny.

Westbury, NY - August 10, 2018 - The Public Information office reports the Arrest of a New Cassel man for Grand Larceny that occurred on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 3:57 p.m. in Westbury.
 
According to police, units responded to a complaint of a stolen automobile from 846 Prospect Ave. Officers put out a notification on the stolen van, a gray Ford. The vehicle was found a short time later crashed into a pole in front of 1194 Prospect Ave. Defendant Roberto Pena, 27, was found sitting on the curb next to the van.
 
Further investigation revealed that the defendant had been the one to steal and crash the van. Police noticed that Pena had slurred speech, was unsteady on his feet and had a strong smell of alcohol on his breath. He was placed under arrest without incident and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
 
Roberto Pena is charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree, Driving While Intoxicated and Unlicensed Operation. He will be arraigned when medically practical.
