LI Swimming Club Thanked by Nassau Executive Mangano For Helping To Fund Aquatic Center's New Outdoor Practice Pool

Nassau County, NY - August 11, 2017 - Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano joined members of the Long Island Swimming Club on Thursday, August 10th at the Aquatic Center in Eisenhower Park, to thank them for their help in funding the center’s new outdoor practice pool, which was just used for last week’s US Open Swimming Championships, and this week’s Junior National Championships. Mangano was also joined by Jim Sheehan, President of USA Swimming and representatives from Discover Long Island, to tout the economic benefits and rise in tourism that these events have brought to Nassau County.
 
“We are proud to host such world-class athletes right here in Nassau County, and I congratulate all of these swimmers on their hard work and dedication,” said County Executive Mangano. “These events will prove to be a tremendous boost to Nassau County’s economy, with tourists coming here to stay local and shop local. I thank the Long Island Swimming Club, Discover Long Island, and everyone who helped bring these events to Nassau.”
