Special Weather Statement issued September 22 at 6:46AM EDT by NWS Upton NY High pressure centered across northern New England and extending south into the mid Atlantic states is resulting in a dry airmass in place. Gusty northwest winds will develop today and continue into the afternoon, with gusts up to 20 to 25 miles per hour. The gusty winds, combined with low fuel moisture, and relative humidity values lowering to near 25 to 30 percent, will aid fire spread should ignition occur. Suspect Wanted for Hitting Levittown Senior Citizen, Fleeing the Scene

Levittown, NY - July 30th, 2014 - The Second Squad reports the details of a Leaving the Scene of an Accident which occurred on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 7:15 A.M. in Levittown.

According to detectives, a female victim, 80 years of age, was struck by a silver car travelling westbound on Stirrup Lane while she was putting out her garbage in front of her home.  The vehicle was last seen driving westbound on Stirrup Lane.  The victim suffered bruises and injuries to her shoulder and hip. She was transported to an area hospital for treatment to her injuries.
