West Babylon Man Accused of Killing Brother
John Beaumont, 54 of West Babylon was due to be arraigned in court today for allegedly stabbing his older brother. The victim, 57-year-old Thomas Beaumont, died at Good Samaritan Hospital on Saturday night.

Police say that John called authorities after the incident occurred, and told them that he had stabbed his brother. Thomas was later rushed to the hospital. The stabbing took place during an argument around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday night in a house on Densfield Road in West Islip.

Their father was also inside the house at the time of the stabbing, but he was uninjured. It is unclear what the two brothers were arguing about. John is facing second-degree murder charges. He was scheduled for arraignment on Sunday at the First District Court in Central Islip.

Police Search for Suspect in Subway Assault
A cell phone captured video of a man assaulting someone on a Queens-bound 7 train. The incident took place around 1 a.m. on Sunday, May 5.

Police are now searching for the man, who can clearly be seen punching another passenger on the train. Officials say the man exited the subway at the 69th Street station. The Central Robbery Queens Transit Squad is now handling the case, as of Friday.

The suspect is described as Hispanic or white, with dark hair in a ponytail and brown eyes. He is approximately 5’9”, 180 pounds and was wearing a black T-Shirt and jeans at the time of the assault.

The victim is blurred out in the video, and police are encouraging that person to come forward.
