July 24, 2013 - Middle Island, NY - The Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad is investigating the death of a man who died after struggling with police.

Seventh Precinct police officers were called to Maryhaven Center of Hope, located at 222 Currans Road in Middle Island, last night after a resident became uncontrollable and violent. Maryhaven employees requested the resident, Dainell Simmons, 29, be transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for a psychiatric emergency.
