Long Island, NY - June 29, 2015 - MTA Long Island Rail Road is offering plenty of extra train service to the East End over the extended Independence Day Weekend, including an extra Cannonball to Montauk on top of the Railroad’s already enhanced summer Montauk Branch schedule. Highlights follow here and customers can pick up a copy of the current Montauk and Ronkonkoma/Greenport timetables or view them online.

Independence Day Holiday Weekend Train Service:

To the Hamptons and Montauk:

Wednesday, July 1: Regular summer weekday Montauk Branch service plus extra later afternoon train to Montauk departing Penn Station at 5:09 p.m.

Thursday, July 2: Regular summer weekday Montauk Branch service plus Cannonball leaving Penn Station at 4:06 p.m.

Friday, July 3: Regular summer weekday Montauk Branch service, plus the extension a train that normally ends it run at Patchogue. Customers can take the 9:22 a.m. Babylon train at Penn Station, changing at Babylon for the 10:27 a.m. to Patchogue which will run all the way to Montauk. And, of course, later in the day, the Cannonball will make its scheduled 4:06 p.m. departure from Penn.

Saturday, July 4 & Sunday, July 5: The LIRR is running on a regular weekend schedule with a westbound Cannonball departing Montauk on Sunday only at 6:37 p.m.

To Greenport & the North Fork

Thursday, July 2 and Friday, July 3: Regular weekday service plus the 3:55 p.m. train from Penn Station connecting at Ronkonkoma for the 5:21 p.m. eastbound train making all stops to Greenport.
