It’s a Battle of the Badges! On Wednesday, June 23, 2021, the Suffolk County Lawmen Softball Team will take on the Nassau County Lawmen at Baseball Heaven in Yaphank, NY. This event will benefit the USA Patriots/ Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team. Tickets are not required.
 
The Opening Ceremony will begin at 6:30 PM with the singing of the National Anthem accompanied by Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard and the Suffolk County Police Department Pipes and Drums. Matias Ferreira, a Suffolk County Police Officer and USA Patriot Player will take part in the coin flip with Suffolk County Sheriff Errol D. Toulon, Jr., Suffolk County Police Commissioner Stuart Cameron, and Nassau County Police Commissioner Pat Ryder. The Ceremonial First Pitch will be thrown by Suffolk County Police Officer Christopher Racciopo. Officer Racciopo was severely injured when he was stabbed during a traffic stop earlier this year.
 
The Suffolk County Lawmen are made up of Correction Officers and Deputy Sheriffs from the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office and Police Officers from the Suffolk County Police Department. The Nassau County Lawmen are made up of Police Officers from the Nassau County Police Department.
