Scam Alert: Mangano & Nassau Police Warns Residents of Hoax Letter

Mineola, NY - October 30, 2015 - Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano, Acting Police Commissioner Thomas C. Krumpter and the Nassau County Department of Health are advising Nassau County residents about a hoax letter that is being distributed throughout Nassau County. The letter states that Nassau County will be spraying for mosquitoes by helicopter over the next five Saturdays, beginning on Saturday, October 31st.  The letter further states that police will be patrolling neighborhoods to arrest any person outside during the mosquito spraying.  This is information is completely false.

Nassau County is not spraying for mosquitos in Nassau County this season.
